Living the Values: A 10-Year Journey of Growth, Embedded CARE Values

There's a special kind of pride that comes from witnessing a company not just grow, but truly thrive. For the past ten years, I've had the privilege of being a part of that journey here at Xactly. As I transitioned from Software Engineer to Engineering Manager, I've seen firsthand how our core values — Customer Focus, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence – are the bedrock of our success, and not just in one location, but deeply rooted across all our offices around the world.

A Culture that Travels

No matter where you are in the world, a visit to a Xactly office feels like coming home. Our core values transcend borders, fostering a consistent and positive culture. This consistency is what I experienced during my visits to customer sites. They consistently voiced their appreciation for our commitment to delivering not just exceptional products, but also exceptional service. It's a testament to how effectively our values translate across geographical and cultural divides.

Tenured Talent and Long-Term Success

I'm not alone in this ten-year journey. Many colleagues have been here even longer, their success stories a living testament to the power of our culture. These long-term employees are a valuable asset, their experience and dedication fueling our continued growth.

Living Proof: Appreciation and Recognition

Our core values are more than just words; they're actively cultivated and celebrated. The company fosters a culture of appreciation and recognition. Employees who embody our values are acknowledged and rewarded, inspiring others to follow suit. This positive reinforcement system keeps our core values at the forefront of everyone's mind.

Building Something Special Together

Witnessing the impact of our core values on our company culture, not just here but across the globe, has been truly inspiring. It's a testament to the power of a shared vision and a commitment to excellence. These aren't just words on a poster; they're woven into the very fabric of our culture. Let me share some insights from my experience:

Customer Focus: The Driving Force
We don't just develop software; we build solutions that empower our customers. Early on, I witnessed the importance of understanding customer needs. Our team meetings weren't just about features; they were about the impact those features would have on real people. This focus on customer success is infectious, and it motivates us to constantly innovate.

Accountability: Owning Our Work
There's a sense of ownership that permeates our company. We take pride in delivering on promises, both internally and to our customers. I remember a time when a bug threatened a crucial deadline. The team rallied around the issue, working tirelessly until it was resolved. This commitment to accountability fosters trust and collaboration, ensuring everyone is invested in the overall success.

Respect: A Foundation of Trust
Mutual respect is the cornerstone of a healthy work environment. We value diverse perspectives and create a space for open communication. As I transitioned to a leadership role, I learned the importance of actively listening to my team members, not just hearing them. This culture of respect empowers everyone to contribute their best work.

Excellence: The Pursuit of Greatness
Here, "good enough" simply isn't good enough. We're constantly pushing boundaries, seeking out new ways to improve our products and processes. This pursuit of excellence is evident in everything we do, from code reviews to client interactions. It inspires continuous learning and growth, both individually and as a company.

Living the Dream
The most rewarding aspect of these core values is how they're embedded in the everyday. It's not just about grand gestures; it's about the small moments of appreciation for a job well done, the recognition of someone going the extra mile. These moments reinforce the importance of our values and create a truly positive work environment.

This ten-year journey has been an incredible springboard. Witnessing the impact of our CARE Values on our company culture has been inspiring, and it fills me with excitement for what the future holds. I can't wait to see how we continue to innovate, grow, and empower our customers together.
